Mediator selection
We recommend that you let us appoint a mediator for you. We know our mediators well and will select those who are most suitable for your case based on the nature of the dispute, your requirements of the mediator(s) as well as the relevant experience and expertise of the mediators, among other factors.
Choosing the right mediator for your case improves prospects for a successful mediation. When co-mediation is necessary or preferred, having the right complement of personalities and temperaments will also improve the dynamics and the outcome of mediation.
Parties are entitled to SMC’s competitive fees (see above) if they use SMC-appointed mediators.
Parties who prefer to appoint their own mediator may indicate the preferred mediator’s name on the Request for Mediation form for SMC to follow-up. Please note that in these cases, the mediator(s) may charge their own commercial rates.
Email to smcregistry@sal.org.sg if you would like us to appoint a mediator for you.
