Managing Conflicts at the Workplace
Conflicts and misunderstandings are inherent in any workplace environment; left unaddressed, issues can detrimentally impact morale, productivity, and staff retention. Learners are assumed to be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5 or C6 in GCE “N” Level English.

Participants who would like to become an SMC Accredited Mediator may take the Mediation Skills Assessment (MSA) after completing both Strategic Conflict Management for Professionals Modules 1 and 2. Those who want to further their mediation practice by becoming internationally certified, may then apply to become a Qualified Mediator with the International Mediation Institute. Only participants who complete Strategic Conflict Management for Professionals (Module 1) after 1 January 2019 are eligible to be considered for this application.
Please note that passing the Mediation Skills Assessment (MSA) will allow you to describe yourself as an SMC Accredited Mediator. This does not guarantee emplacement on SMC’s panel of Mediators.
