Construction operates in dynamic environments and is often described as complex.  A contract is therefore essential and is a key document for the success of any project for all parties involved. It is vital as it lays down the key elements and clear obligations to ensure full and adequate performance for successful completion of the project. It involves contract administration with good understanding of the key elements for better risk management and reduced business costs.

The Singapore Contractors Association together with SCAL Academy with the support from Singapore Mediation Centre is organising a full-day seminar on “Contracts for Dummies”. This seminar will highlight some of the key elements of contract management including the drafting of Main contracts and Subcontracts, indemnity through insurance policies, performance bond and dispute resolution mechanism. This seminar will also give an update on the recent development of the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act.

The seminar will benefit anyone involved in contract management and contract administration in both public and private sectors.
