Mediation provides a cost-effectiveness and efficient alternative for businesses in challenging situations. SMC aims to reach out to our end-users, the business community, to increase awareness of the alternative dispute resolution systems in Singapore, especially mediation and advocate its benefits as a strategic tool for growth.
2 October: Unfolding Conversations 2018
SMC hosted its annual by-invitation networking dinner for business leaders in the tech industry, held with the support of SGTech and technology partner CusJo. Now in its fifth year, this year's event was titled "Error 409: What's the Solution behind the Problem?".
The Honourable Justice Lee Seiu Kin delivered the Welcome Address, sharing his experience and perspectives as a judge hearing tech disputes and as a mediator facilitating the resolution of similar disputes before he was appointed to the Bench.
At the dinner, guests got to observe a mock mediation concerning a dispute over a contract for the design, installation, configuration, testing, commissioning and maintenance of a security operating system. This was followed by a panel discussion on the use of mediation in tech disputes, conducted with the help of CusJo's AI software and featuring a group of illustrious speakers, including SGTech's Chairman Mr Saw Ken Wye.
